My Diva and Alan Rickman

This morning on the way to school the Diva says “Momma, I have a question for you.”  Taking a deep breath I prepare myself, because I never know what might come out of that little mouth at any given time.

“So when you are reading a book do you hear the people in your head talking?”

My reply: “Umm yeah, I would say so.”

“Well I am reading Harry Potter and sure I hear the voices of Harry, Ron and Hermione, but the voice that sticks out the most is Snape.”

I smiled at her and asked “why do you think that is?”

She got this little sideways grin and said, “I think because, secretly he is my favorite person in Harry Potter.”
This is a revelation; normally its Harry, Ron, Hermione, Dobby or even Peeves.  Still not sure why she likes Peeves so much.  And there is no question to her devotion to the other 4.  So I ask her “really what makes Professor Snape your favorite?”

The little sideways grin came back and she responded. “Well Momma, I love his voice, there is just something about his voice that makes me smile even when he is being a nasty turd (yes my Diva said turd) to Harry.  But I know that is not the real thing that is just the man playing him in the movie.  So even though I like that it’s not the real reason.  I think it’s because even after everything he still loved Lily.  I sure hope somebody loves me like that someday.”

At this point she has a far away silly grin on her face.  So I tell her, “The man that plays Professor Snape his name is Alan Rickman.”

“Oh, does he always sound like that?” she asked.

My response (taken from Professor Snape himself) was simply “Always.”  She immediately got the reference and got an even bigger smile.

Pulling out my iPhone, I went to you tube and we watched this clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJqejvcpJQw (Yes I was running a little behind for work this morning but when your daughter wants to listen to Alan Rickman, how can you refuse?)

When it was finished’ her response was “Yep, he is definitely my favorite and can you call him to see if he will read me a bed time story every night.  It would be so nice to hear that voice each night before I fall asleep.”

“So you really like his voice and want to hear it some more?”

Her response with a grin: “ALWAYS.”

Curly vs Straight...Long vs Short

So I have let my hair grow out.  At this point I am not sure if I am happy with it at all.  Each day I think today is the day I am calling Nikki and telling her to cut it all off.  Then I talk myself out of it.  I really love Reese Witherspoon in the picture below, but I know that I will never have hair that straight.  EVER.  Or bangs.  Bangs that curl up are not a good thing.
This style (Isla Fisher) is pretty easy for me and I have been wearing it a lot.  It's pretty much my go to hair.  Although her curls are more tamed than mine are.
I love the way you can throw it in a ponytail or pull it back in a clip.  What I don't love about it, how long it takes to wash and dry.  The Gwyneth Paltrow style is what I want.
But I will end up with hair like Chalize Theron below:
Yeah so I have no idea what I want.  Sigh...

Again I have no idea what I want...  Muah.

The Castle is starting to look a lot like Christmas!

Well, the Diva and I spent the day making the Castle, Holiday Ready.  We love our new tree, it's kinda skinny, BUT hey Skinny is good!  The Diva and I listened to Christmas carols and decorated up a storm.  We are happy with the results, still not completely finished but we made a good start.  Let me know what ya think.  :)

Thanksgiving Attire

This was my inspiration outfit.  I really liked it a lot.  There was just something about the grey and yellow together.
Gray and Yellow

So I went to my closet to see what I could dig up.  I was not sure I even owned anything yellow no matter how much I liked it.  Imagine my surprise when I came up with not only a yellow shirt but a yellow necklace as well.  I thought it worked out nicely.  I decided my grey riding boots were a better option than flats (not that I have many flats to choose from and certainly do not have any yellow ones.
Keeping with the grey theme, the diva also decided a grey tunic sweater was appropriate Thanksgiving attire.  Notice she is also sporting her black riding boots.  And we basically have our hair fixed just a like.  Hey, she is not my mini me for nothing.

I hope Everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving.  My BFF is picking me up in just a few and we are heading out to go shopping!  :)

this and that

Well I know I said I would post a picture of the Diva in her horseback riding attire, but well it was raining and I was completely remiss in getting that photo.  Sorry... we will recreate it, I am sure.

The last 2 days have been exercises in futility for me.  Nothing has gone the way I wanted it too!  Not one dang thing!  Work is making me crazy... but that is a completely different blog... not something for everyone.  The house looks rough.  Although for the life of me I can't figure out when we had to time to dirty it, since we have barely been here.  I am almost certain Elves dirty it when I am sleep.  Or maybe Presley is having kick butt parties when we are not here.  All I know if I am constantly cleaning it and it's still dirty.  And other stuff BUT I will not bore y'all with any of that, because Thanksgiving is barely over a day away and I know I have much to be thankful for.

So what do I have to be thankful for?  For starters my Diva of course, she makes life entertaining and wonderful.  Who knew you could love one kid so much???  Oh, wait; other Mom's knew that.  I know I have said this before, but given the chance she is going to change the world one day!  I promise you that!  The husband, yes I am thankful for him.  Even if choking him till he turned purple crossed my mind earlier today.  I am still thankful for him, always.  If I had to do it all over again tomorrow, he is still the one I would choose.  For all the million reasons he drives me crazy, there are a million more reasons why I love him best.  My family and friends, love them best as well.

Happy Turkey Day... :)

Saturday = happiness!

The Diva is putting the final touches on her room.  Birthday party + Bribery(Threats) = Clean Room.  Or at least at my house it does.  She is really excited to go to her friends birthday party.  It is a horseback riding party.  So of course she has to be properly attired.  She was mad because I would not buy her this to wear:
She looked it up on the web and told me that was what she needed.  I told her she was not in a national riding championship.  She was going to a 9 years old's birthday party.  We compromised and decided to wear jeggings and cute top along with her black boots.  We however do not have the hat and I told her she did not need the riding crop.    We will do her hair cute to make up for not having the hat.  She is now searching for cute hairstyles to compliment her outfit -her words.  So there is not any telling what she will come up with me to do to her hair.  Her birthday is in a little over month and now she is worried about what she will do for her party.  She wants to have an Alice in Wonderland Lawn party.  I have told her that is a cute idea, but remember it is January.  I told her lets make it through Thanksgiving and then we will think about the Ali Holiday.

Happy Saturday, Everyone.  Do something fun or do nothing at all, just enjoy it.  MUAH!!!!

Weather in Florida

The weather in Florida is so much fun.  One day you are in shorts the next you are in fleece.  The Diva says I am wearing a coat today and shorts.  I told her to just wear jeans and you will be fine.  She shook her said and "But Mom, those crazy folks at School don't know how to check weather.com."  Today we are going with jeans, t-shirts and boots.  Boots are always the answer as well- according to the Diva.  Below you see the weather report.  She still thinks she needs a coat-her words.

This look is cute and affordable...

Okay I was able to play tonight and put together a similar look to the one I posted on Tuesday.  This one is pretty close.  Obviously it's a little different.  The total of this look is $245 meaning it is $8332 less.  Let me know what you think.  :)

School Pictures

The Diva brought home her school pictures yesterday.  She hates them of course.  I think they are cute.  She says "that MAN made me turn my head like that.  I look like I am challenged."  I told her she looked beautiful.  She said the only good thing about the picture is you can see her Michael Kors bling on her shirt.  Here it is:

Cute weekend look for some...

Oh and here is a cute weekend look.  I really like all the darker colors with the pops of PINK.  Of course that handbag alone costs almost 7 grand so it's not like I am running out tomorrow to purchase it.  But I like the look even if the total cost is $8577.  I mean I can't think of anyone I know who can afford it, well Kim K can, although I am not sure those jeans would fit on her super fabulous rear.  My challenge is to create an affordable look that is similar.  Oh and you can try it too!  (oh and in case you are not familiar the look was created on polyvore...)

Cute weekend LOOK!

Sleep & Chores...

Sleep has become a thing of the past around here.  I remember the days when I could sleep until 10-11 am.  Now I am lucky if I sleep past 4am on a weekday and occasionally I can make myself sleep till 7am on a weekend.  I feel like that means I am OLD.  Only old people get up before daylight or before the chickens; as we say in the south.

These days I am up at around 4 am or so, doing laundry, cleaning the bathroom, mopping the floor.  Sure they all need to be done, but I still enjoy sleep when it comes.  Why back in the day (see: an OLD people reference, only OLD people say- back in the day -) I would just be getting home at 4 am.  Sad, sad!

Something else that irritates me is Kevin.  Looking at the clock it is now around 5:30 am.  He does not have to be at work until 7am.  He is leaving now.  It's all of 20 minutes to work.  My point is they do not start paying you till 7am why would you want to show up every day at least an hour early?  I mean sure I show up early sometimes, like when I have a project to do.  But every day is insanity.  I guess he figures he is up, might as well leave.  The difference is I figure I am up, I should do laundry or clean the bathroom.

Okay, so the truth is: the fact that he does not see those things need to be done is what really irritates me.  Men they are so oblivious.  Good thing he is cute.

Have a great day all Muah!

Resurrect this blog!

I have been contemplating resurrecting this blog for a while.  I miss the outlet for my craziness and well a few people have said I am funny.  Not sure about all that.

So much has changed since I was last here.  There have been some great things.  I published a book under the pen name of Kelli Lee Mosley.  It’s called Another Chance.  I am not sure I want to do it again but hey it is off my bucket list.  The Diva has grown so much she is nearly as tall as me.  I will get some pictures up ASAP to show you how cute she still is.  (Yes, I am her mother; but I know I am not the only one that notices how cute she is…) Kevin and I have been married 11 years now.  Crazy times, man.  We have new babies in the family.  Really cute ones, at last count 5 new nieces and 5 new nephews.  Not to mentions a few marriages have been celebrated to go along with those babies.  I have re-connected with some family that I have not talked to in ages.  That has been great.

And with all things there have been some not-so-great times as well.  We lost Uncle Raymond last year.  He is still missed so very much.  He was our family comedian and get-togethers are not the same without him. My friend Jan (you have heard me mention her) she was in seriously bad car accident.  Thankfully she is now on the road to recovery, but it was scary none the same.  My other BFF Stephanie she moved away, BUT she came back.  So that was bad, but now it is good that she back home.  I missed her so VERY much.
The world has also changed a lot as well.  Social Media is everywhere.  From Facebook to Twitter to Pinterest (probably my favorite) it’s all about getting out there.

Update on the Diva:
She is now 9 years old and in the 4th grade.  She is still an excellent student and has a wide range of interests and her personality is just as huge as ever.  -As anyone who follows me on Facebook can attest to- She has decided soccer is her sport and she plays either defense or midfields man.  And what will cause you to roll with laughter is: YES, I was her coach this season.  Go ahead, laugh.  Yes, it is funny.  Heck even I think it’s hilarious.  Reading seems to be her thing.  She has now read all of the Harry Potter books, Kingdom Keepers books, Peter and The Starcatchers and now she has moved on to some classics such as Anne of Green Gables and Judy Blume.  You can often hear her laughing at the antics of Fudge in the SuperFudge series.  She has asked to read Twilight as of now I have told her NO.  While she has seen the movies, the books are more intense and I don’t think at 9 she is ready.

Update on the Princess:
All goes well as far as I can tell, I had some ups and downs this summer but I am finally feeling better.  And I seem to have gotten back on track health-wise.  I have expanded my passion for photography somewhat.  Kevin finally broke down and bought me a good camera and I have certainly put it and my MacBook to use.  (Photo’s to come; I promise) and other than that I have just been busy being me.  Why not be me, everyone else is taken – at least that is how the saying goes.

Update on Kevin:
He is still the same old, laid back, easy going Kevin.  Pretty much content to do what “his girls” –that is what he calls us- wants to do.  He is now working closer to me and we have lunch together quite often, which is something we have never been able to do.  It seems to be having a positive impact on us.
Work is still work, no paycheck unless you go there; unfortunately I have not figured away around that.  I need a paycheck to support my Michael Kors habit so I continue to go each day.

That is pretty much it for now.  I promise now that yall are caught up, it will be fun updates from now on.
Little things like:
  • I am thankful for hairspray today. I know that is superficial but had you seen my hair before hairspray you would understand the wonders it wrought this morning. :)
  • The Diva killed a squirrel with her 4-10 Shotgun, Saturday…
  • I wish I could explain the very depths to which, I loathe and despise laundry. I like to buy clothes, wear clothes and see them hanging in my closet. BUT I can find nothing I like about laundry. NOT.A.SINGLE.THING!
  • The Diva just figured out there are 118 days until we go to Disney again. She smacked her hand on her forehead & said "oh dear goodness, I am never going to survive that!!" So dramatic she is.
Those are all from facebook, but I will endeavor to have separate Diva-ism’s for the blog!
Muah!  Pictures to come!!
