Happy Birthday to me!!

Well my birthday was Thursday! It was a pretty good day. I gotta cake that was my highest priority. You know me, rarely have I met a cake I didn't like. Presents were good! I love presents. Friday night was Kenny Chesney! And OH MY GOD... I love me some Kenny Chesney. The concert was fabulous. Miranda Lambert opened for him and she did a pretty good job. No voice on Saturday, but hey who needs a voice. Dallas won today and that was fabulous! Love me some Cowboys winning! Must go back to work tomorrow! Which is not anything I want to do.

Counting down the days until the Diva, Stephanie and little blondie and me escape to Disney World! Girls Road trip and all! October 23rd... is worth looking forward too!

MIAMI WINS!!!

After a major nail biting game; CANES win! Makes my life good!

Miami Hurricanes vs. FSU...

My blog is not about talking smack… well mostly its not! But anyway today is the day. Florida State vs. Miami. Hooray! It’s the game all Canes and Semiholes… I mean Seminoles look forward to. It’s that game that can go either way. (Hopefully to a green and orange victory.) They play in Tallahassee this year so FSU has the home field advantage. But that means nothing in this game. Yeah, yeah, yeah, FSU has veteran coach Bobby Bowden (by that I mean REALLY old dude) and Miami has had its ups and a lot of downs of the past few years. But it can truly be anyone’s game. Here are the scores since 1980:

1980 Miami 10- 9
1981 Miami 27-19

1982 FSU 24-2 7
1983 Miami 17-16
1984 FSU 38- 3
1985 Miami 35-27
1986 Miami 41-23
1987 Miami 26-25
1988 Miami 31- 0

1989 FSU 24-10
1990 Miami 31-22
1991 Miami 17-16
1992 Miami 19-16
1993 FSU 28-10
1994 Miami 34-20
1995 FSU 41-17
1996 FSU 34-16
1997 FSU 47- 0
1998 FSU 26-14
1999 FSU 31-21
2000 Miami 27-24
2001 Miami 49-27
2002 Miami 28-27
2003 Miami 22-14
2004 Miami 16-14 (Orange Bowl Classic)
2004 Miami 16-10

2005 FSU 10-7
2006 FSU 13-10
2007 Miami 37-29
2008 FSU 41-39
17 Miami wins and 13 FSU wins; I hope to make it 18 wins after tonight!

As a Miami fan there are two games a year that you want to win. Florida Gators and FSU, everything else is gravy! So if you do not have a team you feel like screaming for… choose mine! GO Canes!!!!

what would it take to make a man clean up

Ok I love Kevin. I truly do, BUT he drives me crazy. What would it take to have him pick up his own crap? I mean why are his shoes in the middle of my kitchen? Why does he leave his glass on the coffee table? Why does he leave his clothes outside of the linen closet, when the basket is inside the closet? Does he think these think miraculously take care of themselves? I think he does. I really do. So we are having a contest that he does not know about. I am not washing any of his socks until he puts them in the basket. At this point it has been 1 week that I have not washed any. I want to see if he will go in search of them or just think that they all disappeared.

This and That!

I have needed to update this for a while and as Stephanie and I are discussing a trip in October to Disney it brought up this memory and I find it funny so I thought others might find it funny as well:

Perry Florida

As we are driving to Walt Disney World, you have to understand Kevin is ALLERGIC to the interstate. If he can find a two lane, pig trail, two rut road he will use it instead of the interstate, it drives me CRAZY! But I digress. We are driving along and we come to Perry Florida. Now I am not sure if you have ever heard of Perry Florida, if you have bless your heart… If not just let me tell you now, it is the Hog Dog Capital of the World. You may not have been aware of this, as I was not aware of it either until just recently.

Driving thru Kevin proceeds to tell the Diva and I to “keep your eyes peeled we are entering the Hog Dog Capital of The World.” I give him that look; you know the one that says “WTF?” and he says “No I am serious, it really is.”

Somewhere in the back of my mind I know that I should just shut up, but my mouth just can not do it. I have to ask “WHY” So then I have to hear this story about when he was a little boy and the six of them (did I mention he is the baby of 4 boys?) went down south on vacation in a regular cab Toyota pick up truck and all the kids had to ride in the camper shell and on the way back they picked up a HOG dog to take home with him. I shake my head and mentally note that I asked for this, so I deserve it. Well apparently it was the worse hog dog in the world and would not hunt. The only thing it ever caught was the girl that lived next door. I let him ramble on, then look over as we stop at a red light and see a HUGE dog in the truck next to us. He says yep it’s a HOG dog. We pull into McDonalds to get a snack and danged if a little girl is not standing in line (inside mind ya) holding yet another HOG dog puppy. I guess she was proud of her little friend. Before exiting Perry, although not nearly hasty enough in my opinion, we see no less than 5 hog dogs and I am quite certain that lady in her Caddy had one in the passenger seat, seat belted in. (it truly was a sight to behold). So it could quite possibly be 6.

I believe that you should have whatever kind of animal you want. I mean I have a semi-hairless Chinese crested Pomeranian mix, so I am not exactly a designer dog girl myself. But to each their own, I guess. SO here’s to YOU Perry Florida, The Hog Dog Capital of the World!

See what I mean about finding it funny! BUT the best part is that when Stephanie and I hit the road to Disney we are going the interstate the WHOLE way! Sounds like heaven to me!

The Diva's Plans

The other morning the Diva and I were driving to the sitters house and I asked her what she wanted to do when the weekend got here. You could tell she was giving it some thought then she replied. "Well I am not sure I have all these other plans. Let me think on it."

I look at her and say "what other plans?"

"Oh you don't know Mom, I have lots of plans. Let's see, well the end of June I am going to the movies to see Transformers and then July will get here and I will celebrate my half birthday (I started that a long time ago, her half b-day is July 4th and we always have a cook out. Well we called it her half b-day when she was 2 and it stuck... great idea huh... NOT!) then Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince comes out. Next is August and you promised me that you and Daddy would take me to do something before school starts back. Then in September we are going to see Kenny Chesney is Tallahassee. In October we are going to Disney World to trick or treat with Stitch and I want to be an East High cheerleader for Halloween (High School Musical). After that it will be November and Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows comes out along with Edward (insert dreamy sigh... not sure if it is for Edward or Harry as she loves them both, although not as much as she loves Troy Bolton- Zac Efron) in New Moon. Then its December and we have Christmas and move on to January and it will be my birthday. Now in February there is not much going on other than Valentines Day, but you always get me a prize so its not a complete waste. Then its March and Spring Break and we will go back to Disney World. Yeah I don't have much time to do anything but we might can squeeze going somewhere and doing something in there. Let me get back to you."

At this point I have nothing to say. Because well what's left? I mean she has plans from now till March and she is ONLY 7. I think I need to buy her a Palm Pilot or at the very least a day planner to keep up with all of it. FCOL... where does she come up with this?

Glutton for punishment or just reality??

This month has been so crazy busy. I have planned to blog about this and blog about that, but I just have not had enough time. I go back to work on Monday after being off for 10 days and I know that it will be hard to get back in the groove of things.

The Diva and I have had a pretty good break and Christmas was great. I have spent that last 2 days telling her to turn her music down. I have to wonder about my sanity in the choice of having Santa bring her a huge stereo. My only thought was that maybe I would not have to listen to High School Musical any more in the car. Maybe I did not think that one all the way through you know. Beyond that life is pretty sweet right now.

I am now in the middle of plans for her birthday party. She is having a High School Musical Makeover Dance Party. Yes I am a glutton for punishment. 14 little girls for 4 hours, they are going to have their hair and nails done all while singing along with High School Musical. My dog is going to have heart failure when all these people show up. He is not exactly what you call a people dog. There went my sanity.
